About Spellerberg Associates
Spellerberg Associates is a specialized digital consultancy that combines in-depth knowledge of the cultural sector with advanced technical capabilities to help museums and cultural institutions thrive in the digital age. We are uniquely positioned to understand both the mission-driven nature of cultural work and the technical requirements of modern digital transformation, ensuring that technology serves institutional goals rather than driving them.
About Marty Spellerberg
I am a digital strategist and arts administrator with over 25 years of experience driving innovation for major cultural institutions. As the principal of Spellerberg Associates, I’ve lead digital transformation projects for clients, including The Andy Warhol Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, and the Terra Foundation for American Art. My expertise combines deep technical skills with MBA-level business strategy and proven leadership in arts administration. Blog posts about this work are organized under the #museums tag.
I conduct and publish research on museum websites and digital engagement, including studies on museum website visitor motivations and the impact of COVID-19. I am active with the Museum Computer Network, a professional association, and regularly speak at industry conferences, including Museums and the Web and SXSW Interactive. Blog posts about these pursuits are organized under the #research tag.
In 2016, I founded Spellerberg Projects, a contemporary artist-run center in Lockhart, Texas, where I serve as Executive Director, overseeing exhibitions, public programs, and community partnerships. Blog posts about this activity are organized under the #gallery tag.
Currently completing my MBA at Texas State University, I uniquely bridge the worlds of cultural strategy, digital innovation, and organizational leadership. Send me an email!
